Set following the Civil War, Edwina Ladoux tries to find a way out of her Southern life by answering an ad for a mail-order bride and moves to Heartbreak Creek, Colorado. However, upon arrival, things do not look to go smoothly for Edwina and Declan (her new betrothed) and both are glad for their three month courting agreement, so they may quietly dissolve their marriage arrangement. But, the tides turn when an unexpected person appears and through a series of events, excitement and adventure will Edwina leave at the end of the three months, or has she found a new soft spot buried deep for Heartbreak Creek?
